This software program allows access to any digitally stored information, from audio and video to documents and electronic books. Ares users are able to connect with one another and directly download available files from each other’s hard drive. First released in 2002, Ares has quickly become one of the most used and recommended file sharing applications.

Ares has four versions available for download, the Galaxy, Ultra, Vista and Ultimate.  Ares Galaxy is the original version, developed in 2002. While this oldest version does allow file sharing of all types, currently technical support is not offered. With a large preview screen and a built in browser, Ares is easy to navigate. To keep files that have been downloaded in an organized manner, the Ares download has a library section that allows files to be put in specific categories.

Often times there is stigma surrounding the topic of file sharing. Provided that all copyright laws are being followed, file sharing is not illegal. Ares peer to peer application is completely legal and safe. With an advanced media filter, access to files that contain viruses or offensive content is prevented. With over 100 million files being shared among 30 million or more users, a person can find what they are looking for with Ares.
